About me
Formerly a linguist who switched from human language to natural language. Now I am a data analyst with lots of passion and interest in data analytics and predictive modeling.
In my free time I like to analyze data and create machine learning projects.
I have a bachelors degree in linguistics and spent a great deal of time learning the Japanese language. Upon my graduation I moved to Japan to further my study of the Japanese language where I was able to achieve a near fluency level. Since accomplishing what I set out to do I decided it was time to come back to the United States.
It was then that I decided to chase another dream that I set out for myself. To become a data analyst. Since my return home, I have dedicated all of my waking time to get as knowledgeable as possible in everything related to data and data analytics. The best way to do so was to learn python and all of the packages needed for data analytics.
Capabilities and Strengths
I can do everything that is involved in the data analysis pipeline.
Data Cleaning
Data tidying takes up a large amount of time for any data scientist. I possess the technical skills to clean any kind of data set no matter how much of a mess it is. Writing code to clean data is one of my favorite parts of the data analysis pipeline.
Data Visualization
I can create visualizations for a wide sort of different kinds of data. Whether it is univariate, bivariate, or multivariate, I can visualize it all. I know well over 20 different kinds of graphs and can implement and talk about them all.
Hypothesis Testing
From Parametric to non-parametric, and paired to non-paired hypothesis testing, I can do it all. I know of and can talk about well over 20 different varieties of hypothesis tests and their usages.
Predictive Modeling
I can create many different kinds of machine learning models no matter what kind of data type that is needed to predict. Supervised, Unsupervised, Classification, Regression, Binary, Multi-label, Multi-class, I can do it all.
SQL and RDBMS
Writing queries in SQL to retrieve information in relational data base management systems is no challenge to me.
Presenting Findings
After doing all of the above analysis I can easily create dashboards to present the data findings. These dashboards are both visually appealing and easy to understand.
Communication
My previous work experience has put me in front of a lot of people as both a teacher and working in sales departments. I can easily and freely communicate whatever needs to be done with whoever it is.
Lifelong Student
I believe that education is a lifelong journey that never truly comes to an end. In my free time I am always studying to better equip myself with the skills needed to be the best that I possibly can during the job.
